Starting with the Basics
This project began with a simple idea. Once I was clear that I needed an online space to host my projects and living ideas (aka digital garden), I started researching my options. Of course, as a curious person, always interested in learning new things, it was natural for me to attempt my first website build practically from scratch.1
I decided on Astro as the framework. ClaudeAI2 helped me but luckily I was familiar enough with the basics to create something that felt like mine.
Then I discovered VaultCMS and it only felt right to use it as a CMS for my Astro site (because Obsidian is one of my Current Obsessions).
Once I saw this post from Emma Goto describing building a digital garden with Obsidian and Astro , I was determined to go this route. I know there are much easier ways to create a website but I’m in my DIY-era. Digital tinkering era and customizing everything just for fun.
This is a Work In Progress
I will continue to tweak, develop, and play around to my heart’s content. And that’s part of the fun for me. :)

Ok, it wasn’t entirely from scratch. I utilized the Astro Paper Theme to get me started. ↩
